Scraptacular Cowl

Scraptacular Cowl
By Kristy Glass

Use up your scraps in a quick and easy cowl to give to your favorite charity.

Materials:
Jumbo Yarn (I suggest Lion Brand Yarn’s Color Clouds)

Or

Multiple Strands of Scarp Yarn held together to achieve a jumbo weight

Size 19 Straight Needles

Yarn needle for weaving in ends.

Skills: Knit Stitch, Mattress Stitch

Yardage: 40-50 yards

Size: Women (Men)

Loosely CO 30 (33) stitches.

Knit 12 rows.

Loosely cast off, leaving a long tail for seaming the cowl.

Line up both ends of the cowl –careful not to twist (unless you want a twist in it!), sew up the seam using the mattress stitch.

This cowl is meant to sit close to the neck as to avoid letting much cold air, flow.  Of course you can cast on as many as you want!  The more stitches you cast on, the looser the cowl will sit on the neck/collarbone.
