To say we learned a thing or two or three about nature this summer would be the understatement of the year. Of all our adventures with critters I have a few top favorite moments. One was when I discovered I had a house finch family in the nest RIGHT above my kitchen door out to the porch. Watching them grow and watching those dedicated parents was a treat, ending with us returning after being gone for several days and seeing the last two birds clumsily fly out of the nest, never to return.

My top moment was this mommy and baby team. They visited a lot with another mommy and baby and the 4 of them had a playdate in the "pond" on our property. Watching them play together and the mama's attending to the  babies was an absolute wonder.
